Every once in a while I come across a vintage photo of woman who I could not picture living in any other time period. Karla Conway is a good example of this phenomenon. I understand that clothing and hairstyles impose a lot of preconceptions on the mind, but I do not think that can account for everything. I do not know if it is due to the face or the body, but something about her screams out that she is from the ‘60s.
Dress up any girl from today in the same styles that Karla is showing here, and they would still not be convincing. It is like watching January Jones in Mad Men. I know that face did not exist back then, so who are those producers trying to fool?
It must have taken quite a bit of effort to both have a small waist size while also not looking like she does anything physical. I bet she could hold her breath a lot longer than the average person. One would have to if they were going to suck their gut in for an entire photo shoot.
