I do not understand why there needs to be so much variation in the spelling of people’s names, even those in other languages. Stefany, here, is a great example. I grew up going to school with a girl named Stephanie. So in my mind that is the way it is supposed to be spelled. I don’t care if you are from Russia, Mexico, or Uganda; your name better end with IE and it better have a PH stuck in the middle.
How is a society supposed to function adequately if we have to stop and ask how even common names like Stephanie are spelled? It is preposterous. I do not even know how to properly pronounce this girl’s name. Where is the emphasis supposed to be placed? STE-fany, Stef-ANY, StefanY? I don’t even know what I can trust anymore. I am starting to doubt the spelling of my own name. For all I know it could be pronounced like Charles Bronson.
Stefany is lucky that she is cute, otherwise she would have a sternly worded email coming her way. It has been a while since I last scolded a woman, and even longer since I scolded one for something that was her fault, so I would hate to break the streak now.
