Julissa Neal appears to be wearing the skin of a mermaid in these photos. Considering that she is in Miami Beach it is a wise move. This way she does not have to waste any time changing into her swimsuit if she feels like having a spontaneous dip in the ocean.
I am something of an expert when it comes to everything merpeople related, so I will take this opportunity to dispel some myths. Many activists get up in arms about the ethics of sourcing clothing from another living being, especially one so human-like. Well, I can tell you for a fact that, just like fish, merpeople feel nothing in regards to pain. That means we can inflict as much damage as is necessary onto them in order to get their skin while remaining guilt free.
The other main gripe that these activists have is that merpeople are an endangered species so we should not be harvesting them for something so trivial. First off, they would not think it was so trivial if they could afford a merskin suit. Secondly, no one knows exactly how many merpeople are out there, which means there could be millions. So I see no reason why we should stop collecting such a handsome resource.
