Seeing hair over boobs as an attempt to act as censorship feels like such a cop out. Who do they think they are fooling? We know no nipple is going to be peeking through the drapes. The fact of the matter is, for some reason Evan Rachel Wood did not want her gals shown on HBO. As baffling as that is, it is the reality. So why have her appear naked at all?
I feel like I get more distracted by almost seeing nudity than I do by actually seeing it. And no, I do not count two inches of butt crack, or zoomed out shots of possible boobs as authentic nudity. It is so out of focus I cannot trust my own eyes with what I am seeing.
I think there would be a higher percentage of leading ladies appearing nude on film if their male counterparts were also nude. Now, I am not lobbying for nude men because I like it. I am simply being pragmatic. Besides, I have become so desensitized to old man nudity that I would not even recognize it on the screen, and I bet you wouldn’t either. So why not have Anthony Hopkins baring it all beside Evan in an attempt to level the playing field?
