Future directors and cinematographers need to take notes when watching Sin City, because there is a lot to learn from it, not least of which being how to effectively not show nudity. Nothing takes me mentally out of a film faster than seeing a woman who should be topless wearing something to cover her boobs for no reason than to not have people see her nips. How gullible does Hollywood think the masses are that we would just accept that all of these women have sex and sleep with their bras on? I have never known one woman who does. They usually whip that thing off faster than a feminist at a bra burning.

That is why it is important to get creative when nudity should be at play. Maybe the producers want to keep the movie from being rated R. Maybe the actress does not want to play ball. It doesn’t matter. What matters is getting as close to that line as you can. So, in the case of Carla, they cover her boobs in shadows. It looks classy. It looks natural. And it looks sexy. Mission accomplished.
