Playboy really hit pay dirt when they decided to go with the bunny mascot. I had no idea that a bunny-person could be so sexually appealing, even Bugs in drag did nothing for me.
Most other companies might have stopped with just having the bunny logo, but not Playboy. Hugh knew what he had, and he was determined to make the most of it.
They showed great restraint by going for the minimalistic approach. Seeing whiskers on a gal has always been a turn off for me and I doubt seeing them on a bunny girl would make a difference.
The great part about minimalism is that it leads to a classic look. There is a reason why seeing Gia Marie in a slutty tuxedo can still make men of all generations refuse to stand up in public. Had they gone with the trends of the times they would have become some sort of go-go dancer hybrid with body paint. That kind of thing would not have lasted all of these decades. Playboy would have needed to reinvent themselves with every generation. That requires money as well as running the risk of being wrong from time to time. But when you have gold right off the bat you can avoid all of that nonsense.
