I imagine it has to be difficult to conduct a photoshoot when there is water involved. I have to imagine since the only camera I have personally owned has always been attached to a cellphone. But if the photographer wants a shot of a nearly dry woman who is only just getting wet, he only has a few moments to get it because she is about to get doused and look like a wet dog. And if he misses that opportunity then they are going to lose an hour drying off the model and setting up for the next attempt. Redoing their hair would be no small task either. I think that is part of the reason why women started shaving their pubes. Getting them to look feathered was simply too much work.
With today’s technology we can probably conduct the whole shoot without any water involved and add it in later with some clever editing. I doubt that was a valid option in the days of Donna Edmondson. Their minds would have been so blown by this technology that we would have wound up burning at the stake as witches. Not a bad way to go in my opinion. I always preferred the heat.
