If you've been following my articles (of course you have...we're friends right?) you've seen the reveal of EA's 'Crysis 3' but what you may not know is that a new gameplay trailer has just hit the web and it really shows off some of the beauty of a futuristic New York teeming with all sorts of enemies and greenery.
On top of this awesome new trailer, it has recently been announced that Crysis 3 will have the same stunning DX11 graphics on Xbox 360 and PS3 as the PC version of Crysis 2 had which apparently is so intense it, 'shouldn't theoretically work on consoles'.
It is very, very difficult, but it is possible. It just requires a lot of effort. Some of the stuff these guys are making work on consoles now is absolutely amazing. It's render features that shouldn't theoretically work on consoles, but they've managed to construct code that can emulate a similar thing from a… hack and slash sounds wrong, but they don't have the same streamlined pipeline you would have with a DX11 structure, but they can get to a similar result just by experimenting and using tips and tricks. -Rasmus Højengaard, Director of Creative Development (Crytek)
So, for those who were less than blown away by Crysis 2, this latest news should sway you to give the series another shot because...let's face it...this looks awesome.
