Five years ago, the art film community decided that it was time to have a movie with explicit lesbian sex scenes in it that would please the masses! Blue is the Warmest Color was basically validated by its many award wins and critical acclaim. It made you feel cultured to buy a ticket to a three hour movie with eight minutes of explicit sex scenes. You felt like a valued member of society for the first time in a long time.
Thankfully the film is now available on home video and we can just skip all of that boring stuff and get right into the things that matter. Like allegedly simulated sex scenes that look an awful lot more explicit than your average flick. The actresses in the scene, Adele Exarchopoulos and Lea Seydoux, both confirmed that they wore "rubber vaginas" for their sex scenes, but come on.
Thank goodness also for Mr. Skin, who managed to boil this acclaimed film right down to the ten or so minutes that really matter. That man is doing the lord's work and we should all thank our lucky stars that someone wants to cut out everything but the sex in movies.
