I do not know how or why, but plaid has really grown on me over the years. I used to be fairly indifferent to it, but now I take note of it every single time I see it and I am immediately willing to accept the wearer as a close friend.
Take Jenna Reid as an example. I do not know this woman. I have never seen her before in my life. But she is wearing this outfit that looks like it was a reject for a Catholic school and I feel like I can trust her with my banking pin. There is no way she would ever do wrong to a fellow plaid enthusiast. We leave that sort of behavior to the plain shirts and dresses of our peers, choosing not to degrade ourselves.
Finally I feel like I belong to a close knit community, like any of the immigrants that have come to America. I always admired having that sort of allegiance to people you don’t know. I personally would benefit greatly from it because I am definitely not the kind of guy that can be trusted with a banking pin.
