I am relieved to see that my grandparents' home is not the only one in the world to not be updated since the 1970's. For awhile I was worried about it, but had no way to compare them to anybody else. As a rule I stay far away from the homes of any other old people. One never knows what they will find inside. The chances of stumbling upon a dead body in the streets is practically zero, but the chances of finding a dead body when you make a house call to the elderly is about as high as shooting fish in a barrel.
I am not talking about finding them when they are fresh and still fairly presentable, like Katja here. These bodies could be dead for days before they are found and by that time they inflate like a blimp. Nothing attractive about that, I tell you. And it is best case scenario if they die during the winter because the cold helps to preserve them, but if it happens during the summer, well, may God have mercy on your nostrils.
